Brief Biodata of Dr. V. Vijayalakshmi

      Dr. V. Vijayalakshmi is currently working as Associate Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry, India. She completed her B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D in Pondicherry Engineering College which is affiliated to Pondicherry University. She has 29 years of teaching experience at Diploma, UG and PG levels.

      Her academic achievements include Best M.Tech Project Award, Best Research Paper Award and Certificate of Excellence in M.Tech Course. She specializes in Information Security and her Ph. D thesis is entitled "Securing Wireless Networks using Elliptic Curve Cryptography in Prime and Binary Fields". She teaches courses on Information Security for both under graduate and post graduate engineering students. She has delivered several invited talks on Security. To her credit, she has published 71 research papers in National/ International Journals and 57 research papers in National/ International Conferences.

      She has undergone two months training in Information Security at IISc Bangalore and TIFR Mumbai. She has also co-ordinated a DIT sponsored Two week short term training program on "Information Security", AICTE sponsored FDP titled "Security in Wireless Heterogeneous Networks-Issues and challenges" and "5G mmWave Radio Transmission for Ultra-High Speed Wireless Technologies". She organised an Internation Conference on Communcation Security ICCS 2016. She has also conducted a TEQIP sponsored one week program on "Wireless Sensor Networks-Issues and Challenges". She has worked on Cryptographic algorithms which includes ECC and HECC. Currently she is working on Bio-metric authentication, Securing Wireless Sensor Network, Digital Image Processing, Low Power VLSI Design and IoT and its security issues.

      Her areas of interest also include VLSI, ASIC, Steganography, Embedded Systems and design of Cryptoprocessors.

      She has completed five research candidates and currently two pursuing research under her.
